Casa Porrona is the result of our journey discovering amazing Tuscany. A glance was enough to fall in love with both this house and Porrona: a small jewel in the Cinigiano area, a few kilometers from Montalcino in the Val d'Orcia. We decided to share our experience with you, renovating this ancient house and bringing its warmth back to light, mixing together its original tradition and a new modern elegance. Casa Porrona is an amazing house built in the 12th century, which is part of the medieval village of the same name which sits elegantly at the top of a hill.

Everything has been chosen to make you feel at home: you will feel pampered by a magical atmosphere from the past. For this reason the kitchen has been equipped with all the necessary comforts and special details to make every meal a precious moment. You will feel embraced by the warmth that only an ancient residence rich in history can offer, with the comforts of a modern home.

Casa Porrona is rich in carefully chosen details that you will have the pleasure of discovering during your stay. Wine lovers will enjoy admiring the cellar with a private collection of wines while going down to the "tavernetta", a basement room with a large convivial space, equipped with a small kitchen, a wood-fired oven, where you can luch and dine with friends, tasting the excellent Tuscan wines.
For a night out, there are excellent alternatives in the surrounding area. There is a wide range of local and gourmet restaurants, trattorias and starred restaurants. The village of Porrona is set at the center of a famous wine area where excellent vines like the Brunello di Montalcino and the Montecucco are produced. Food and wine have always been the show-pieces of this region. It is simply impossible to go wrong! It is wonderful to walk among the vineyards or in the local villages in search of small shops and wine bars, to admire the works of art and historical testimonies present everywhere in the area. Cyclist and joggers come from all over the world to test themselves on the paths that cross these hills, enjoying the priceless views.

Spaces with the best comforts for a pleasant stay

Casa Porrona is arranged over four floors which are divided into:

  • the ground floor, which includes a wide living area complete with a large fireplace that adorns the main room, a comfortable kitchen, a large bathroom with tub and laundry.
  • the first floor, where the sleeping area is located, with three spacious double bedrooms, a reading room and a lovely bathroom with a shower.
  • the second floor, an attic set up as a playroom, furnished with board games, a large smart TV, a fancy sofa, an old table football we have personally renovated.
  • the cellar and basement area, furnished with a large table perfect for convivial lunches and dinners, a kitchen, a wood-burning oven, an elegant and decorative mezzanine.

Each room is provided with heating and air conditioning, except for the basement which has been preserved in its original form.
